APPLICATIONS TO LIVE IN RESIDENCE FOR THE 2021-22 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED. If you intend to apply to live in Residence during the 2020-2021 year, please contact (residence@ukings.ca)
Information for Incoming First-Year Students and Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) One-Year Students
Residence is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Incoming first-year students should apply and pay the necessary residence fees as early as possible in order to secure a room. If you wait until the Admissions Deposit deadline to apply to residence you will only receive a placement if space remains available at that time. Please note that your residence application will not be active until you have received an offer of Admission to the University from the Registrar's Office.
Information for Non-Kings Students
We are only accepting non-King’s applications from NSCAD students at this time. Please leave the Student ID (B00) field blank when completing the residence application. The Residence Office will contact you by email with this number once it has been assigned. This can take over a week. Note that you will need this number to pay any residence fees.
COVID-19
If living at King’s would help you with extenuating needs, accessibility issues, or barriers to online learning, please contact the residence office at residence@ukings.ca.
How will I receive notice about the status of my application?

All efforts will be made to place students within their preferred lifestyle. The College, however, retains the right to alter room assignments.
Single rooms are not usually allocated to first-year students except on documented medical grounds (see area indicated as: MEDICAL), or unless all residents are housed in single rooms due to COVID-19 measures.
Angels' Roost is a small, comfortable, co-ed residence environment in which rooms have been set aside specifically to meet the living and learning needs of upper-year students and students in the one-year Bachelor of Journalism programme. This unique residence is comprised of single rooms and is situated in the heart of campus, literally steps away from the Kings School of Journalism.
Note: Every effort will be made to place you in Angels Roost. However, if we are unable to do so, we will attempt to assign you a single room in another residence. Should you have a preference for another residence building, please indicate below.
All efforts will be made to place returning/upper-year students in single rooms, in their preferred building, room, and lifestyle choice.
The College retains the right to alter room assignments at any time prior to occupancy. Returning students must be in good academic standing and eligible to return to university.

 | Medical/Dietary Needs and Accessibility |
Please indicate below any allergies or special needs (whether they be medical, physical, dietary, psychological, etc) that affect your room requirements or diet.
Dietary Requirements
If you have a specific dietary requirement, you must discuss your needs with the Account Director of Sodexo Food Services, Mr. Daniel Orovec (daniel.orovec@ukings.ca or 902.422.1271, ext. 155).
Accessibility
While many of our classrooms are wheelchair accessible, unfortunately our residence buildings currently are not. Students requiring wheelchair-accessible accommodations should contact the Residence Office (902.422.1271, ext. 215 or residence@ukings.ca) to discuss their needs. We will attempt to assist students in whatever way we can by exploring different avenues for accommodation.
